Back From Disneyland

June 10th, 2007

We had a GREAT time in Disneyland.  Emma had so many wonderful experiences there, I’m sure she’ll remember some of them for a lifetime.  Bryson, Jaden and Emma all got along very well for the entire trip.  If one of the people pushing the strollers wasn’t keeping up, the kids would let them know.  They all wanted to be right next to each other as they went through Disneyland.

We went on many exciting rides (and some not so exciting rides if you are an adult) and ate way too much food.  I know that I’m personally not going to eat anything for a week to try to shed some of the “Disney Diet” that I subjected my body to.

Today is just a lazy day around our house.  I went over to check on the progress at mom’s house this morning and was glad to see more is done.  The roof is finished and the garage doors are on and the bathrooms are just about complete.  Next up will be to get the kitchen completed, bathrooms fully completed and start the wiring in the garage/shop.  We are all anxious for mom to be able to move in.

Here are a few photos of the house:

And Yet More Progress On Mom’s House

June 1st, 2007

Emma, Aunt Jean and I went over to Mom’s house today to see the latest progress.  I was over yesterday but didn’t have a camera so the three of us went back over today.  When we got there, the guys were up on the roof of the garage/shop installing new roofing.  Here is the latest status:

-Front door trim completed

-Majority of painting done

-Doors mounted

-Master bath shower installed

-Downstairs bathroom shower half done

-Downstairs back door installed

-The rest of the windows have been installed

-All windows have been trimmed on the inside

-All new carpeting has been installed

Once the roof is on the garage/shop, the emphasis will be completely on the house until Mom is able to move back in.  The doors for the garage have been ordered (but delayed due to one odd size) and should be in within a week.  The bathrooms are coming along nicely and should be completed within the next week as well.  That just leaves the kitchen to complete.  The sheetrock has been torn out of the kitchen and there will be some sealing that is required in a few areas.
