Well, it was a great Thanksgiving at our house.  We hosted a Thanksgiving dinner at our house and then went up to the cabin the next day.  We spent Friday and Saturday night at the cabin while we worked on our cabin.  Ben, Jana and Luc came and spent the weekend with us.  Ben helped on the cabin and we made some great progress.  Darren also came up and spent the weekend with us and we all had a great time!

Darren built the stairs and the downstairs wall.  We also got some wiring done upstairs and now three sides of the cabin have Tyvek on them.  (Just one more to go, but it’s the easy one).  We also started on the plumbing and have the drain for the kitchen sink tied in to the main house drain.

Luckily the weather was pretty good for us while we were there.  It was very cold, but we actually had a pretty dry day on Saturday.  The weather really got crazy when we woke up on Sunday.  It had started snowing overnight and there were already three inches on the ground.  Needless to say, Emma was thrilled.  She ran around the cabin yelling “It’s snowing, It’s snowing, It’s snowing, It’s snowing!!”  She woke everyone up.  :)  We played in the snow a bit and then Ben and Jana took off.  After they left, Darren and I went down to the cabin and worked on cleaning the place up and finished building the downstairs wall  (the pictures don’t show the last work done)

We’ll head up next weekend for a day to do more wiring and some plumbing.  Here are a few pictures of everyone and the progress on the cabin:

Emma had a great time on Halloween this year.  She dressed up like a princess, although it was kind of hard to see her costume under the coat, gloves and hat.  It was freezing outside!!  The temperature didn’t deter her though.  She went trick or treating with her friend Jenna and they had a great time.  The hardest part about the whole night was trying to get them to slow down.  As soon as they got done at a house, they would run down the driveway with Emma yelling, “We got more candy!!!!”

Once her bucket was full, it was time to come home.  She ended up with more candy than she could eat in a year so Daddy has been helping out.  :)
