Roofed the Cabin this Weekend
Darren came up on Thursday afternoon to work on the cabin. We worked from Thursday to Sunday morning and were able to get the deck framed up, the deck roof trusses up and sheeted and we roofed the cabin. We also got the earthquake strapping inspection approved on Friday.
Thursday night wasn’t all that fun. We finished up the earthquake strapping and then started mixing concrete for the 3 pads that hold up the deck. We finished that around 10pm with the help of a couple flashlights and flood lights. The next morning we started working on the deck and spent the day getting the beams up and in place, and the deck framed up. By Friday night we had the deck ready to mount the trusses. Saturday morning we set all the trusses, sheeted them and started roofing. We had a few snags to deal with, but got the roof covered by that night. Sunday morning we just did a few miscellaneous things and then came home. We still have some work to do on the deck roof and then we also have to finish up some of the trim boards on the roof.
